Encountering the Father

Praise be to God!

Every week the Lord is revealing a different aspect of His glory to us and yesterday the Father began to reveal more and more of His love for us in our worship of Him and through His Word to us. This is what He showed us:

  1. The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord was upon Jesus. Is. 61:1; Luke 4:18
  2. Jesus was baptised in order to fulfill all righteousness. Mat. 3:15
  3. As Jesus came out of the waters of baptism, the Spirit of God came upon Him and remained on Him. Mark 1:10; John 1:33
  4. When the Spirit of the Father rested on His Son, the Father spoke His approval and love over His Son. Mark 1:11
  5. Jesus had revelation of the Father's love before He began His ministry - the work of the Father. Luke 3:23
  6. The uponness of the Spirit is the seal of the Father's approval. John 6:27
  7. The believer is baptised into Christ and made one with Him. 1 Cor. 12:13; Rom. 6; Phil. 2:1
  8. Through the believer's union with Christ, s/he is made righteous and therefore fulfills all righteousness - the believer is made right with God through Christ. 2 Cor. 5:21
  9. Since the believer is one with Christ, the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord rests on the believer as a seal of the Father's approval. 2 Cor. 1:21,22; Rev. 14:1
  10. The Father seals His children with His love before they do anything - it is by grace that we are made one with Jesus and are sealed with the Father's love. Eph. 2:8

After receiving this awesome revelation from God's Word, we spent time in the Father's presence, being anointed with oil as a symbol of the Father's seal of approval and receiving an outpouring of His love. Hallelujah!

Quote of the week:

"He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come." 2 Cor. 1:21,22

Grace!

Praise be to the Lord!

The Lord is continuing to reveal the extent of His love to us. By the Holy Spirit we are receiving revelation of what we have been freely given (1 Cor. 2:12) and it's mind-blowing! Hallelujah! Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about True Freedom and this is what He showed us:

  1. In Christ the believer has received everything s/he needs for life because s/he has received the fullness of God. Col. 1:19; 2:9,10
  2. God has done everything for mankind to be able to receive fullness of life in Christ Jesus. Rom. 5:6-8
  3. This awesome gift of Life is received by believing in the finished work of the cross. Eph. 1:13,14
  4. Salvation is God's work. 1 Cor. 1:26-30
  5. Hunility is confidence in God.
  6. Everything man needs is found in Jesus. Christ is the believer's wisdom, righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Cor. 1:30
  7. The way for man to have life and to walk in righteousness, wisdom etc is to believe in, and trust in the Righteousness, Wisdom, and Life who lives in the believer.
  8. The gift of Christ, who is the believer's Life, is received by faith. Eph. 2:1-9
  9. The believer has been given the fullness of God and s/he can rest in the completed work of Christ.
  10. The believer's life begins by faith and should continue by faith in Christ! Gal. 3:3
  11. When a believer lives his or her life under rules and regulations, s/he becomes legalistic and places him/herself under law - trying to attain a righteousness apart from Christ (self-righteousness). Gal. 5:4
  12. Law activates the flesh and results in condemnation!
  13. Alternatively believers treat God's gift as a license to do whatever they like which leads to a life controlled by selfish desires. Gal. 5:13; Rom. 6:1,2
  14. Both legalism and liberalism are not freedom.
  15. True freedom is found by walking according to the leading of the Spirit. 2 Cor. 3:17
  16. The Holy Spirit primarily uses the conscience of the believer to direct him/her. Rom. 14; 1 John 3:19-24
  17. The road to true freedom (sanctification) is all God's work - by grace through faith.
  18. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of the believer's faith! Heb. 12:2
  19. The believer lives in true freedom when s/he lives by the Spirit; free from the control of the law and free from the control of the flesh.
  20. God is faithful and it is Christ in the believer who works all things. 2 Cor.1:21; 1 Thess. 5:23,24
  21. To continue to walk in true freedom, the believer simply needs to trust in Christ to do His work in and through him/her. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life! John 14:6

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! 2 Cor. 3:17

We praise God for His amazing grace and love and for revealing the depth of His grace and love to us by His Spirit!

Quote of the week:

"You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?" Gal. 3:1-3

God's love!

Praise be to our God of grace and love!

On Friday KLF met for a powerful evening of prayer and worship as we stood in the Truth and established Christ's lordship in our lives and in our city. We had an awesome time praying the Word and proclaiming the Truth as the Holy Spirit led us. We were particularly blessed to have Phil Gorman visit us from Harpurhey Community Church in Manchester who joined KLF's worship team leader, David Rowe in leading us in worship. It was a brilliant evening and the presence of God was wonderful. You can find the teaching notes from the evening on "Ready 4 Battle?" here...

On Saturday KLF and Treffpunkt Leben organised a Narnia Party for children to have an alternative to the halloween parties held over the weekend. We believe that the Church should provide godly alternatives and initiatives to bring Life to the world rather than be a condemning voice that just criticizes and judges the world! The theme was C.S. Lewis' Narnia story and all the games, costumes and activities revolved around the first Narnia film. The party was a great success and the children (and adults) were richly blessed.

Yesterday's meeting was very powerful once again as the Lord gave us an even deeper revelation of His love. Already during worship in song, God was working deeply in us to bring healing and affirmation to His children as He revelaed more and more of His love to us. The Lord then spoke to us about what salvation is and this is what He showed us:

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery - but I am talking about Christ and the church." Eph. 5:31,32

  • The marriage vow can be compared to the believer's confession of Christ that both lead into a covenant - an agreement between two parties to remain faithful to one another.
  • The marriage relationship represents the relationship God has with His children.
  • In light of how the marriage relationship can be compared to the believer's relationship to Christ we can note the following:
  1. A marriage relationship is not based on a marriage contract alone! It would be ridiculous to say that a couple is married that live their lives independently and seperately. The person who continues to live his or her life apart from, and independently of his or her spouse and says s/he is married is deceived.
  2. A marriage relationship is not based on fulfilling "marital rules." It would be ridiculous to base one's marriage on trying to fulfill certain marital rules. The couple that lives by following marital rules to maintain their marriage lives a life that is conditional and is not based on love.
  3. The marriage relationship is a covenant of unconditional love. The covenant is made on the basis of love and the fulfillment of that covenant is a relationship based on unconditional love.
  4. Therefore, "to be saved" is to enter into a covenant of unconditional love with God in Christ.
  5. Salvation is therefore the fulfilling of that covenant of unconditional love through the believer's union with God in Christ Jesus.
  6. The believer's relationship to God is therefore not based on a formula, nor on living under law, but it is based on being united to God in Christ because of our dependence on His love for us and remaining in His love.
  7. The believer is saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8) - in other words, we are saved by trusting and relying on God's unconditional love for us and abiding in that unconditional love (grace = undeserved gift of love).
  8. Salvation is union with God in Christ Jesus and is based on love.

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:10

Yesterday evening we had another opportunity to demonstrate God's love to the world as we spent some time with the homeless and needy. It is such a blessing to be able to pass on what we have freely received. Hallelujah!

Quote of the week:

"We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." 1 John 4:13-16 (emphasis mine)

Les and Dot Mitchell

Praise be to our awesome King!

We've had a brilliant time with our visitors from Kingdom Faith London, pastors Les and Dot Mitchell. On Friday and Saturday evening they led us into greater intimacy with the Father at our KLF Training Days - Prayer Workshop, as we pressed into God's presence until we truly encountered Him and met with Him. Hallelujah!

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about our First Love (Rev. 2:4) and how He wants every believer to ensure that He is the "one thing" (Psalm 27:4) we desire so that everything we are and everything we do flows out of an intimate relationship with Jesus. Pastor Les showed us how important it is that we build our relationship with the Living Word, Jesus, and not just with the written Word that actually points us to Him (John 5:39,40)!

We praise God for an amazing weekend with the Mitchells under whose anointing we could be partakers of what God is doing in their lives and has imparted to them. We believe that our relationship with the Mitchells and Kingdom Faith London is bringing even greater spiritual breakthrough in our cities and we look forward to seeing even more fruit from this significant connection between London and Frankfurt.

Our website is continuously being updated and improved and we are excited about now having a link to the videos we produce of various aspects of Kingdom Life Frankfurt. Take a look here...

Quote of the week:

"One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple." Psalm 27:4

Faith expressed through love

Glory to God!

These are exciting times! The Lord is teaching us and showing us how to be the spiritual Body He has redeemed us to be. Consequently we are being challenged to maintain the spiritual unity Jesus accomplished through the cross (Eph. 2:11-18) by making every effort to always be at peace with one another (Eph. 4:3) and to truly love one another with God's love (Agape - Phil. 2:1-5). This applies to our individual lives but is highlighted when we meet together and have the opportunity to manifest spiritual union in the way we relate to one another and worship together.

The Lord is showing us very practically how to exercise spiritual unity and last Tuesday at our weekly prayer meeting, the Lord showed us how to pray together with one accord (Acts 1:14). We learned that to pray in spiritual unity and in one accord we must:

  1. Engage - "to pray" is a verb and means that everyone participates
  2. Listen - everyone must listen to the Holy Spirit, the leader of the meeting and to one another (James 1:19)
  3. Submit - we must submit to the Holy Spirit, the leader of the meeting and to one another (Rom. 13:1; heb. 13:17; Eph. 5:211-6:9; Phil. 2:2-4)
  4. Be one in purpose - we must agree and target our prayers (Phil. 2:2; Mat. 18:19,20)
  5. Join in the rhythm of the Spirit in the meeting and deny self
  6. Be self-controlled - contributing sensitively and waiting on the Lord (1 Cor. 14:26-32)
  7. Make room for others - giving people room to participate and not hog the prayer time (Phil.2:3,4; Rom. 12:10,13)

As we applied these principles to our meeting, we entered into an amazingly powerful time of prayer as we worshipped, proclaimed, declared, destroyed, established, decreed and joined together as one, revealing the manifold wisdom of God (Eph. 3:10-12)! Hallelujah!

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about the relationship between spiritual love and sincere faith, showing us the following:

  1. Sincere faith is always accompanied by action. James 2:26
  2. Actions that are motivated by eros love mean nothing! 1 Cor. 13:1-3
  3. The fruit of sincere faith is action motivated by agape love! 1 Cor. 13:4-8; Gal. 5:6; 2 Cor. 5:14
  4. Agape love is a selfless love that initiates and responds according to the Holy Spirit, to reveal God's love for the benefit of others and for the glory of God.
  5. Eros love is a selfish love that initiates and reacts according to selfish desires, that reveal the sinful nature/ flesh for one's own benefit and glory!
  6. Spiritual love is unconditional.
  7. Eros love or soulishness is always conditional.
  8. Choosing to reveal God's love within us by denying the flesh (self-life) manifests the Lord's glory. Ex. 34:6; Heb. 1:3

Agape love is a selfless love that initiates and responds according to the Holy Spirit, to reveal God's love for the benefit of others and for the glory of God

In the evening we had the wonderful opportunity to feed the poor and needy and to put the Word into action and demonstrate agape love. Hallelujah!

Quote of the week:

"If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose." Phil. 2:1,2 (emphasis mine)

A lifestyle of faith

Praise be to the King of kings and Lord of lords!

The Lord is continuing to grace us with His wonderful presence in our meetings and He is speaking very clearly to us about spiritual love (agape). We believe that God is preparing us for greater spiritual breakthrough as we learn to truly love one another and be united in spirit.

Yesterday the Lord showed us the following:

  1. Agape (spiritual love) comes "from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith." 1 Tim. 1:5
  2. Sincere faith means a faith that is genuine, real and without hypocrisy.
  3. Faith is not only hearing the Word (James 1:22) nor is it just believing (James 2:19) and neither is it just confession or proclaiming truth (Luke 6:46).
  4. Sincere faith is always accompanied by action!
  5. Faith is a lifestyle because of God. Rom. 12:1,2
  6. Our faith is tested, tried and tempted continuously. James 1:2
  7. Every test, whether we are confronted by the flesh/ self-centredness (Gal. 5:16-25), the world (1 John 2:15) or the Devil (Matthew 4:1-11) requires a faith response - choosing to God's will or one's own will or the world's way or the Devil's way!
  8. Our lives consist of taking faith initiatives and giving faith responses.
  9. As we are faithful in the small tests, God will entrust us with greater opportunities to do His will and glorify Him! Luke 16:10

Faith is a lifestyle because of God!

We are very excited about new opportunities to serve the poor and needy in Frankfurt and it is wonderful to see the whole Body get involved in some way, demonstrating agape love. We therefore minister to the needy on the first Sunday of every month and on the fifth Sunday (when there is one).

Quote of the week:

"Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors." James 1:2,3 (The Message)

Agape

Glory to God!

The Lord is building His Church and raising a spiritual people who reveal His glory and love! Hallelujah!

The Lord is speaking to us about spiritual love (agape) and yesterday He showed us the following:

  1. We are to be like God (Eph. 5:1; Rom. 8:29; Eph. 4:24; 2 Peter 1:3; 1 Peter 1:15,16; Matthew 5:48)
  2. We are dearly loved (Eph. 5:1; 1 John 3:1; John 17:22,23)
  3. We are to live a life of love (Eph. 5:2)
  4. We are to love as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us (John 13; 1 John 3:16; Phil 2:6-11)
  5. When we love like Christ loves us we honour the Father (Eph. 5:2; 2 Cor. 5:14,15; Rom. 6:6-14)

The Lord also challenged us not to just listen to His Word but also to do it (John 13:17; James 1:22-25) since His glory is only revealed through us when we speak and act according to His Spirit within us (John 18:6; Matthew 7:16)!

We give God all the glory for what He is doing in and through us and for blessing us with His awesome presence in our meetings. He is adding to our number and He is maturing us in walking in the Spirit. We also praise Him for more opportunities to serve the Body and the poor and needy in Frankfurt. Hallelujah!

Quote of the week:

"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 6:1,2

A Good Conscience

Glory to the King of kings!

The Lord is continuing to give us spiritual revelation and understanding in our meetings and we are excited about where He is taking us! Hallelujah!

Yesterday's meeting was very powerful. The Lord's presence was "thick" and we continued to worship Him as the Holy Spirit led us. The Lord delights in true worshippers who wait on Him and don't just go through the motions but worship Him in spirit and truth. Hallelujah!

The Lord is teaching us how to be the spiritual people He has created us to be in Christ. Yesterday He spoke to us about spiritual love and He showed us the following:

  1. God has graced us with His love so that the believer has the divine potential to reveal the Lord's love (spiritual love). 1 John 4:12; John 13:34
  2. The conditions for the believer to overflow with spiritual love are "a pure heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith." 1 Tim. 1:3
  3. The Lord leads the believer by His Spirit through the believer's spirit. 1 Th. 5:23; Rom. 8:16; Gal. 5:16-25
  4. The believer's spirit discerns the spiritual things that are from God. 1 Cor. 2:13,14
  5. The Holy Spirit communicates with the believer's conscience. Rom. 9:1; 2 Cor. 1:12
  6. The Lord uses the believer's conscience to ensure that he has peace with God and peace with man. Acts 24:16
  7. To live from the spirit is to pay attention to one's conscience and act accordingly! Acts 24:16; Rom. 13:5; 2 Cor. 4:2; 2 Cor. 5:11; 1 Tim. 1:19, 3:9; 2 Tim. 1:3; Heb. 13:18; 1 Peter 3:16

We praise God for teaching us to live by the Spirit and keep in step with Him so that we will overflow with His love (Gal. 5:22,25)!

On the 2 November, KLF will be meeting in the EFG in Eschersheim but will resume meetings at TPLF the following Sunday.

We are looking forward to having Richard Maybery with us in the first week of November (4-9). He will be leading a series of EQUIP meetings on Seeking God's face: living from the inside out.

Quote of the week:

"I strive to keep my conscience clear before God and man." Acts 24:16

Spiritual Love

Praise be to God!

This past week was awesome! On Saturday, David Rowe (KLF worship leader) led an EQUIP seminar and workshop on worship and encountering God. We provided translation into German in order to open our EQUIP meetings to other churches in order to also bless and equip others to know God and make Him known. Many people encountered God in a fresh and dynamic way and learned how to worship the Lord with their lives. We praise God for the anointing upon David's life and the spiritual insight God is giving him to release the saints into greater intimacy with, and worship of God. The teaching from the day is available to listen to and download on the teaching section of the KLF website.

We are excited about what God is showing us and it is wonderful to see the manifestation of God's revelation as people apply the Word to their lives and their lives to the Word. Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about spiritual love and He showed us the following:
  1. God has given us everything to be a revelation of Him through our knowledge of Him. 2 Peter 1:3
  2. We are graced to reveal God - His presence, His personality and His power!
  3. As we know God's love, we will reveal His love. 1 John 4:7-12; John 14:15; John 13:34
  4. Our goal is to love as God loves us. 1 Tim. 1:5
  5. God's love is spiritual love. Col. 1:8; Gal. 5:22
  6. Spiritual love comes from a pure heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith. 1 Tim. 1:5

Praise be to God for His revelation to us so that we can know Him and make Him known for His glory! Hallelujah!

Yesterday evening we had another awesome opportunity to demonstrate God's love to the homeless and needy at the monthly soup kitchen. We praise God that everyone left satisfied and that spiritual seed was sown into their lives. We rejoice in the opportunities to pray with these precious people for God to save them, deliver them and heal them and we are seeing more and more people respond to the Word and the love that is being shared with them. Hallelujah!

We are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting week with Richard Maybery from South Africa who will be leading a series of EQUIP meetings from the 5 - 9 November on Seeking God's Face. Please check the EQUIP section of the KLF website for details on times and location.

Quote of the week:

"As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34

Divine Capacity!

Glory to Abba, Father!

This past week has been another awesome and exciting time with God! The Lord is revealing more and more of Himself to us in our meetings.

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about Divine Capacity - the spiritual ability to receive and to release God's love (Eph. 3:19). Looking at 1 John 4:7-21, the Lord showed us that if we truly know Him, we will love like Him since He is love and as He is, so are we in the world.

Looking at the parable of the lost son (Luke 15) the Lord showed us the nature of His love and how we can choose to enter into that love or stay outside (15:28). We then looked at the account of Jesus being anointed by a sinful woman in Luke 7:36-50 that describes someone who has entered into Divine Capacity because she received God's love by faith and released the abundance of that love on earth.

She gave everything on earth because she received everything from Heaven!

Yesterday evening we had another soup kitchen for the poor and needy - another wonderful opportunity to release a generous spirit which is the fruit of Divine Capacity! We are excited about how people are responding to God's love; how people are "softening"; how trust is developing and how relationships are being built. The people have told us that they love it when we come and are eager to know when we will come again. Yesterday another man gave his life to Jesus and many are asking questions about the Lord! Hallelujah!

We praise God for His revelation to us and how it is affecting our lives and the lives of others for His glory!

Quote of the week:

"From the fullness of his grace we have received one blessing after another." John 1:16

"Freely you have received, freely give." Matthew 10:8

Flowing in love!

Praise the Lord!

The Lord is deepening our spiritual understanding of what it means to be a spiritual Body that is united in spirit and purpose. Today the Lord showed us how we must be rooted and established in Christ's love; a love that surpasses knowledge (i.e. spiritual revelation). We also saw the following:
  1. To grow together in the Spirit we must begin with the cross.
  2. The flesh/ self must be put to death if we are to be reconciled to God and to one another. Eph. 2:11-18
  3. The cross reveals God's love. John 3:16; 1 John 3:16
  4. If we are to be filled to overflow with God's presence and power we need a spiritual revelation of God's love. Eph. 3:16-19
  5. If we don't grasp how much we are loved, we will not love. Luke 7:36-50
  6. God is love and if we are filled with God, we will love. 1 John 4:7-12
  7. Love is denying self for the benefit of another. 1 John 3:16
  8. God wants us to love as Christ loves us. We must therefore:
  • Renew the attitude of our minds and have the same attitude as Jesus. Eph. 4:23; Phil. 2:1-11
  • Pay attention to the words we speak. Eph. 4:29-5:2
  • Love with action because our behaviour demonstrates what we believe. 1 John 3:16-18

As we learn to love by yielding to the will of God and live accordingly, we will be rooted and established in love and be filled to overflow with the Holy Spirit! Glory to God!

KLF will be doing a corporate fast for 21 days in the month of December. Our host, Treffpunkt Leben, will also be fasting so both churches will be fasting together. Today the Lord spoke to us through Isaiah 58 and Matthew 6:16-18 about the kind of fast He desires and how we should go about fasting as a church. He showed us that fasting is denying self to do God's will!

We praise God that He is adding to our number and that He is truly raising KLF to be a spiritual Body. We are encouraged to see some homeless and needy people who can speak English also attending our meetings and that they feel accepted and loved as they join us in worship.

Quote of the week:

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." 1 John 3:16
