Connecting


Glory to the Sovereign Lord!

Last week Thursday, Suzette Hattingh (Voice in the City) organised a prayer meeting for the Church in Frankfurt to join together in prayer for our city. The meeting was very powerful and many church leaders attended and voiced their concern for not honouring one another which led to a time of genuine reconciliation and forgiveness between the German leaders and the international leaders. The spirit of unity was tangible and we believe this was a prophetic statement of what God is doing in our city and in this nation. Hallelujah!

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about how we need to respond to the vision He has given us as a church. He showed us that when He speaks to us we have a choice as to how we respond to Him. Basically there are 3 attitudes we can have:

  • Attitude #1: I know better - this person is above the Word. He judges the Word, is self-righteous and usually ignores the Word or revelation given to him.
  • Attitude #2: I know it already - this person is on the same level as the Word. He has a "familiar spirit," thinking he knows everything already and therefore relates God's Word only to what he already thinks he knows.
  • Attitude #3: I want to know - this person comes under the Word. He understands that he only "knows in part" and that when God speaks to him, the Spirit of God wants to reveal "the deep things of God" to him that are only revealed to those who submit to God's Word.
  • The apostle Paul had the attitude of "I want to know." Phil. 3:10
  • Paul wanted a greater revelation of Jesus and the Lord's purpose for him. Phil. 3:7-14
  • Paul lived to know Christ more and "to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of (him)." Phil. 3:10, 12
  • Paul received a revelation of the person of Jesus, the purpose of Jesus for Paul and the passion of Jesus for mankind. Acts 26:15-18
We need revelation of the person of Jesus to receive revelation of His passion which will compel us to fulfill the revelation of His purpose for us to redeem mankind.

The vision God has given us is based on these 3 principles:
  • We need revelation of who God is - His person: the "Sovereign Lord" Is. 61:1
  • We need revelation of God's purpose for KLF: "anointed...to..." Is. 61:1-3
  • We need revelation of God's passion for mankind: "...to bind up..to proclaim freedom..to release..to comfort..to provide..to bestow.." Is. 61:3
This week we are staring our Life Groups which form an essential part of a growing church. They help us connect with one another so that as we pursue the Kingdom Life together, we form genuine relationships, we care for one another, we grow together and we influence the lives of others. On Saturday we are having a joint men's prayer breakfast when the men of KLF will be getting together with the men of two other churches for breakfast, fellowship, teaching and prayer.

Unpacking God's Gift



"Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift" 2 Cor. 9:15

The Lord is continuing to reveal the truth of His grace to us, and yesterday He showed us the following:

  • In Christ the believer has received grace upon grace. John 1:16
  • In Christ the believer has received fullness of life. John 10:10; Col. 2:10
  • In Christ the believer has received every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. Eph. 1:3
  • God wants the believer to walk in the fullness s/he has received, now. 2 Cor. 6:1,2
  • God wants the believer to walk in His fullness so that s/he will minister His grace to others.
  • God has given the believer His Spirit so that s/he will understand what s/he has freely received. 1 Cor. 2:12
  • The fruitfulness of the gospel depends on the revelation the believer has of God's grace! Col.1:6
  • What the believer has freely received, s/he is to freely give as a minister of God's grace. Mt. 10:8; 1 Cor. 11:23; Acts 3:6; 1 Peter 4:10,11
  • God has made the believer competent as a minister of His Spirit and grace. 2 Cor. 3:6
  • For the believer to be an effective minister of God's grace, s/he must believe s/he has received and s/he must humble him/herself for grace to abound. God gives grace to the humble. James 4:6

Faith and humility are the keys to overflowing with God's grace.

  • Humility "has no confidence in the flesh." Phil. 3:3
  • Humility is confidence in God and no confidence in self apart from God. John 5:19; Phil. 4:13

In response to God's amazing revelation, we spent time ministering God's grace to one another in His power and in the confidence that He is able to make all grace abound to us (2 Cor. 9:8). Hallelujah!

Some highlights of the week have been the start of our study in the Letter to the Hebrews at our Tuesday Bible study; our worship team supporting Voice in the City at their Arise Shine! meeting on Saturday and hearing the testimonies of lives being changed by God's grace in the church and outside the church. True Worship

Praise be to God!

We are so excited about the life-changing revelation God is giving us not only on a Sunday but also throughout the week at our various meetings. Hallelujah! The men have their own men's prayer breakfast blog to keep the guys updated on what the Lord is doing with the men every Friday at MPB. Check it out here...

Yesterday was a very special meeting. We had to meet at a different location and are blessed to be able to meet at the Baptist church in Eschersheim when we occasionally have to find an alternative place to meet. Before we entered into a time of worship, the Lord spoke to us about what worship is really all about. You can listen to the teaching here...

This is what He showed us:

  1. True worship is a heart that responds to God. This is the essence of all worship.
  2. God is more concerned about the believer's heart than the way he responds.
  3. The manner or form of worship is less important than the fact that the believer is responding with a sincere heart. Heb. 10:22
  4. God looks at the heart! 1 Sam. 16:7
  5. Worship songs are a form that are an expression of a worshiper's heart.
  6. Worship songs should help the worshiper to encounter God in the same way that caused the song-writer to write the song. If the believer just sings the songs without sincerely seeking and responding to the revelation of God, s/he is maintaining form without truly worshiping - form without essence.
  7. Any written response to the revelation of God, whether it be the Word of God or worship songs must always lead us into an encounter with God! John 5:39,40
  8. True corporate worship is when everyone is responding to the same revelation of God together in one spirit rather than individuals each responding to their own revelation of God at the same time in the same place.

Following this revelation we then entered into worship. We began without written songs and simply worshiped God from our hearts (essence) in whatever way (form) we chose. The presence of God was awesome and as we then worshiped with written songs we jointly encountered God as one body in one spirit - it was amazing!

After meeting with God in worship, the Lord then spoke to us about another Kingdom conviction He wants us to have. You can listen to the sermon here...

This is what He spoke to us about:

  1. There are many convictions God wants us to have but He is highlighting particular Kingdom convictions that He wants us to have.
  2. The first conviction is: I am God's home - God has prepared my life in Christ Jesus to be His habitation (see previous blog posting).
  3. The second conviction is: There is more!
  4. God's Kingdom is one of increase and abundance. Matt. 13:11,12,23
  5. Jesus endured all suffering even to the point of death on the cross because He was convinced that there is more - the joy that was set before Him! Heb. 12:2
  6. The apostle Paul, even though he saw the most amazing things and had incredible encounters with God, still pressed on because he knew there is more - he lived to gain Christ. 2 Cor. 12:1-4; Phil. 3:1-15
  7. All the great men and women of God in history and today have the conviction that there is more. Heb. 11:24-27
  8. Revival (God's people being saturated with God and overflowing with Him) comes about when believers carry the conviction that there is more and do not give up until the "more" comes!
  9. Believers who have the conviction that there is more are moved from the ordinary to the extraordinary; from the natural to the supernatural; from the familiar to the secrets of God.
  10. The conviction that there is more will change prayerlessness to prayerfullness and will move the believer to search the Scriptures daily to receive fresh revelation of God to know Him and experience Him more!

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen" Eph. 3:20,21

We praise God for His hand upon us and for helping us to build Kingdom culture that reflects heaven on earth!

Walking in the Supernatural

Glory to the King of kings!

Last week was amazing! As part of Kingdom Life's Training Days, our guest speaker Bengt Wedemalm spoke to us about Walking in the Supernatural. In 3 very powerful sessions we were instructed and inspired to exercise God's faith to overcome the world. You can listen to the sessions here...

On Sunday Gayle Claxton of Voice in the City spoke to us about personal leadership and how every believer is responsible to be a spiritual leader through desire, prayer and worship. You can listen to Gayle's powerful teaching here...

We are excited about whom God is connecting us to, to build with us and we are in awe of God's mandate for KLF in Frankfurt and Germany! Through God's revelation and grace, we are being equipped to have an influence on the Church and the people of Frankfurt and we are witnessing the Lord bring people from many, many nations to us to be revived to influence the nations. Glory to God!

Demolishing strongholds!

Praise be to our victorious Lord Jesus who is seated at the right hand of the Father, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given!

The Lord is speaking to us very clearly about how He is reforming the Church to become the reformers of this world that He has equipped us to be! We are seeing that unless the Church is revived and reformed, she will not be the influence on the world that she has been empowered to be! God's way of furthering His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven is to reveal His truth to us so that as we are transformed by the truth, we become a revelation of the truth and consequently the Kingdom of God.

God's revelation to us becomes our responsibility to respond so as to be reformed to become reformers!

Yesterday the Lord showed us the following:

  1. The believer, at the moment of regeneration, is forgiven of all his or her sin and completely set free from all the power of the enemy.
  2. Having been crucified with Christ, the believer has been delivered from the power of the devil! Col. 2:13-15
  3. The believer is transferred from the kingdom and dominion of satan to the Kingdom and dominion of Jesus. Gal. 1:3-5; Col. 1:13; 1 Peter 2:9
  4. God's thoughts and wisdom are not man's thoughts and wisdom. Isaiah 55:8,9; James 3:13-17
  5. God's revelation to man demands a response - either man believes or man rejects God's truth. Rom. 1:18-20
  6. Since God's thoughts are not man's thoughts, the believer must no longer rely on his own thoughts and wisdom but rather turn away from natural, human thinking and allow God to renew his mind according to the truth. Rom. 12:2
  7. God does not improve man's thinking! He replaces man's thoughts with His thoughts and transforms man according to truth.
  8. God reforms man for man to become a reformer!
  9. The thoughts that man relies on become a stronghold in his mind - that which he depends on, trusts in and has confidence in.
  10. Strongholds of the enemy are broken as the believer receives the revelation of the truth, applies the truth to his or her life and walks in the truth. 2 Cor. 10:2-5; 1 John 2:14
  11. As the believer walks in the truth s/he reveals the reality of the truth and will release the power of the truth! Isa. 55:10-13

We praise God for His awesome revelation to us and that He is establishing us as "the pillar and foundation of the truth" (1 Tim. 3:15) in Frankfurt. Hallelujah!

This week we will be starting a weekly Bible study to train and equip our people in the truth and on Sunday we will have another opportunity to minister to the poor and needy in Frankfurt at our monthly homeless mission.

The month of May will be very exciting! It will mark our 2nd year as KLF and we are very excited about the new location for our Sunday meetings from the 31st of May at CZF! We are also looking forward to have Bengt Wedemalm visit us on the 22nd and 23rd as well as to teaming up with Voice in the City for another Arise Shine conference on the 30th!

Living the Kingdom life

Glory to God!

It has been another exciting week with God! Hallelujah!

On Saturday, the KLF worship team joined Suzette Hattingh and Gayle Claxton of Voice in the City for their Arise Shine! meetings that the Lord is using to equip the Body in Frankfurt with His truth, His presence and His power.

Yesterday KLF had another New Life Celebration as we celebrated new life in Christ through baptism. You can see pictures of the meeting here. The Lord spoke to us about our lives in Him and this is what He showed us concerning living the Kingdom life:

  1. The believer has been rescued from the kingdom of darkness and has been brought into the Kingdom of God. Col- 1:13
  2. The believer has been reconciled to God and is made one with Him. Rom. 6:3-11; 2 Cor. 5:18-20; Col. 3:1-3; John 17:20,21
  3. The believer has been regenerated and has received a new life in Christ. John 1:12,13; 3:3-8; 1 Pet. 1:23; 2 Cor. 5:17
  4. The believer is to remain in Christ. John 15:4-8
  5. The believer is to realise the truth by faith. Gal. 2:20; John 14:20
  6. The believer is to reveal the person of Christ in him/her through obedience. 1 John 4:12; John 3:30; 14:23
  7. The believer is to release the power of Christ by doing the works of Jesus. Eph. 1:19; 2:10; Mt. 28:20

"They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor." Isaiah 61:3

We praise God for His continuing revelation to us! Glory to Him!

This coming weekend we will have another exciting opportunity to bless the poor and needy as we share God's presence, power and love with them.

Times of refreshing!

Hallelujah!

These are exciting times! These are indeed "times of refreshing from the Lord!" (Acts 3:19,20)

Last weekend we were privileged and blessed to have Mike and Kay Chance with us for our KLF Training Days. You can listen to 3 sessions here and you can view pictures of the Sunday meeting here. We are excited about building with Mike and Kay as they have had years of experience of building God's Kingdom here in Germany with a faith dynamic that is stirring this nation. The weekend with them was very powerful and we look forward to seeing them again later this year. Our next training days will be on the 22nd and 23rd May with Bengt Wedemalm!

The leadership of KLF attended the Kingdom Faith leaders' conference at the beginning of this week and has returned full of faith and expectation, having received great encouragement through the teaching, the anointing and the presence of God in the meetings! We are blessed to be part of the move of God that is happening through Kingdom Faith and the anointing that is being released through our covenant relationship with KF. Glory to God!

This weekend we are looking forward to being part of the Arise Shine! conference organised by Voice in the city and we expect God to once again bring life-changing revelation and liberating encounters with Him through worship and the teaching of His Word.

On Sunday KLF will not be meeting at TPLF but at the Baptist church in Frankfurt-Eschersheim at 3pm for another exciting New Life Celebration when we will be baptising new believers and celebrating their new lives in Christ! Hallelujah!

God through you!

Hallelujah!

It has been another awesome week with God! We are experiencing more and more of the Lord's presence and power in all our meetings and we're thrilled with where He is taking us! This past week the Lord has been emphasising the need for the church to pray for the leaders of KLF - for wisdom, power and protection. On Tuesday evening at KLF's prayer meeting, the Lord encouraged us with Acts 4:23-31 and chapter 12 - an awesome testimony of the power of corporate prayer (4:24; 12:5)!

"So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him." Acts 12:5

Right from the beginning of KLF, God has emphasised the need for us to pray for the leadership of KLF in order for the Body to push through into new realms of the spirit (Psalm 84:8,9)! On Friday, at our men's prayer breakfast, we were visited by a pastor from Ghana who inspired us with his testimony of total abandonment to God and the fruit of his life. Again we were led to pray for leadership and we had an incredibly powerful time of intercession and prophetic prayer. God is raising up His people and has appointed us "over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant" (Jer.1:10) and He needs leaders who are covered in prayer to lead the way (Ex 17:8-13).

"Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. Pray for us." Hebrews 13:17,18 (Emphasis mine)

Yesterday's meeting was amazing! Pictures of the meeting can be viewed here. As we worshipped, the Lord revealed His holiness more and more with the result that we had to stop and respond to Him in confession and repentance. God is holy and He calls His people to be holy (1 Peter 1:15,16)! After truly encountering God, we continued in His presence as our guest speaker, Suzette Hattingh brought a very powerful Word for the Church and showed us the following:

  1. Man is made in God's image. Gen 1:26
  2. God made man to co-labour with Him. Gen.1:26; 2:19,20; Rom. 8:28
  3. Even though God's presence accompanied formlessness and void, it was His word that aligned creation to His will. Gen. 1:1,2
  4. God has chosen man to co-labour with Him to align creation with His will by speaking His word and will over creation. 1 Ki.18:42-45; Mt. 17:29; Rom. 8:28
  5. God has given man creative power as he speaks God's word that will not return void without producing the fruit God intended it to produce! Is.55:10,11

God is calling the Church as His co-labourer to exercise the creative power of His Word through prayer to produce the fruit of His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven!

We then ended the meeting by prophesying and declaring Psalm 84:6 over Frankfurt!

The right and the responsibility to pray

Praise be to God!

It's been another exciting week! As the Lord teaches us about prayer and we apply His Word to our lives, we are seeing a greater desire and fervency to pray both individually and corporately. The spirit of prayer and the dynamic of prayer is increasing and we are seeing the fruit of our prayers already! God has spoken to us about 2009 being a year of breakthrough and fruitfulness and as we pray God's way, we "will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living" (Psalm 27:13)!

On Saturday our worship team was invited to be part of the Arise Shine conference, organised by Voice in the city with Gayle Claxton and Suzette Hattingh. We praise God for the way He is bringing the Body of Christ together and for the spirit of unity that is developing in Frankfurt amongst the churches. We believe that God will use these Arise Shine conferences to bring the Body together and equip the Church to make a larger impact on Frankfurt! Hallelujah!

Yesterday three people covenanted with KLF to:

  • Establish our covenant unity with Christ and one another
  • Establish God's call on our lives to be part of His local Body
  • Establish our commitment to one another to live in fellowship (Koinonia)
  • Express our agreement of our values, beliefs and the vision of KLF
  • Express our unity in passion for what God is doing in and through KLF
  • Express our unity of DNA
  • Exercise our unity by serving one another with one's time, energy and resources

We are excited about how God is bringing people to us who are devoted to the Lord and to His local church to see Him glorified and to further God's Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven!

Yesterday theLord spoke to us about the right and the responsibility to pray! He showed us that as believers we have:

  1. The right to become children of God (John 1:12)
  2. The right to call God, "Abba" Father (Rom. 8:14-16)
  3. Full rights as sons and daughters of God (Gal.3:26-4:7)
  4. The right to receive our inheritance because we are heirs (Luke 15:12; 31)
  5. The right to pray (Matt.6:9; Heb. 10:19-22)

The Lord then showed us that we are anointed to be a royal priesthood (Ex.19:4-6; 1 Peter 2:9,10; Rev.5:10) with the priestly responsibility:

  1. To raise God's name up in worship - spirit of worship (1 Peter 2:9; John 4:21-24; Heb.9:9;10:1)
  2. To represent man to God - spirit of intercession (Heb.7:25; Rom.8:26,27)
  3. To reconcile man to God - ministry of reconciliation (John 16:8-11; 2 Cor. 5:18-21)
  4. To reveal God to man - ministers of the Spirit (Rom.15:16; 2 Cor.3:4-6)

God has anointed us to be His children with the right to pray and He has anointed us to be priests of the Kingdom with the responsibility to pray!

In response to God's Word to us we anointed every believer with oil to establish the anointing we have received as children of God and as priests of the Kingdom to pray heaven on earth!

We are devoted to prayer and we have started a pre-meeting prayer time that takes place every Sunday before the meeting and we are setting up intercessor cards for the Body to be purposefully active in prayer.

The Glory and the Kingdom

Hallelujah! God is amazing!

The Lord is anointing our meetings with His awesome presence and revelation! Our lives are being changed as we seek the Father's face and apply His Word to our lives. God is teaching us to pray and yesterday the Lord spoke to us about our IDENTITY and the PURPOSE and GOAL of prayer:

  1. Identity - We have the privilege of having access to God as children of God and addressing Him as "Father". Matthew 6:9; Gal. 3:26; 4:6,7
  2. Purpose - To know God and to know His purposes (His will, His promises and His Word). Prov. 3:5-7; Rom.12:1,2; Eph. 1:17; Isaiah 55:1-9
  3. Goal - To glorify God and see His will done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9,10; Is. 55:10-13

"If my people, who are called by my name (identity), will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways (purpose), then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land (goal)." 2 Chron.7:14

This Saturday our worship team will be supporting "Voice in the city" at their Arise Shine Conference. We are excited to partner with VITC to impact Frankfurt and to equip the Church. For more info click here.
